Euro Plant Tray

Devenir meilleur ensemble de manière durable : c'est certainement ainsi que l'on pourrait résumer l'objectif de l'Euro Plant Tray System. Depuis 2021, des entreprises et des associations du secteur vert de toute l'Europe ont élaboré ensemble des critères pour la conception et la manipulation des plateaux à plantes réutilisables.

De manière singulière en Europe, les différents professionnels de la chaîne d'approvisionnement verte s'engagent ensemble pour une solution sectorielle standardisée et réalisent ainsi non seulement leur objectif de réduction des déchets plastiques grâce à l'utilisation de plateaux réutilisables, mais ouvrent également de nouvelles opportunités en matière d'automatisation des processus et d'efficacité de la chaîne d'approvisionnement. 

À partir de 2024, l'Euro Plant Tray sera disponible en livraison du producteur via le commerce de gros aux jardineries, aux magasins de bricolage, au commerce alimentaire et de détail.

Avantages écologiques

Actuellement, les plateaux à plantes sont à plus de 95 % des solutions à usage unique sur le marché (Weschnowsky 2021 ; Deutsche Umwelthilfe e.V. 2021). La Deutsche Umwelthilfe estime la quantité de déchets annuels générés par l'utilisation de plateaux à plantes jetables à environ 150 millions de plateaux rien qu'en Allemagne, ce qui correspond à environ 21 millions de kilogrammes (Deutsche Umwelthilfe e.V. 2021).

Une étude menée par l'Institut Fraunhofer pour le flux de matériel et la logistique/Dortmund en collaboration avec l'Institut Fraunhofer pour les techniques de l'environnement, de la sécurité et de l'énergie/Oberhausen constate que les plateaux réutilisables pour les plantes présentent une dépense énergétique cumulée inférieure d'environ 25 pour cent et donc meilleure que les plateaux à usage unique.

Avantages économiques

La taxe obligatoire prévue pour les plastiques à usage unique et la taxe sur le CO à répartir au sein des différents pays européens, résultant de l'accord Green Deal adopté par tous les pays de l'UE, représenteront à l'avenir un désavantage supplémentaire en termes de coûts. Le règlement sur la taxonomie entraîne en outre un déplacement des flux financiers vers les entreprises qui pratiquent une gestion durable.  L'Euro Plant Tray n'est pas seulement une solution écologiquement durable, mais présente également en soi un avantage en termes de coûts.
